3 Ways to Support Domestic Violence Survivors During the Holidays.

As the holiday season approaches, Micah's Place is excited to invite you to participate in our seasonal events designed to bring warmth, hope, and support to survivors of domestic violence in our community. This year, we’re hosting three special initiatives: the Angel Tree program, our annual Gift Card Drive, and a festive Holiday Market. These events provide meaningful ways for everyone to get involved and make a difference during this season of giving. Read on to learn more about each event and how you can help spread holiday cheer to those in need!

Angel Tree: Share the Joy of Giving

The holiday season can be a difficult time for families impacted by domestic violence, and our Angel Tree program is a wonderful way to help brighten their days. By participating, you can provide gifts to families in need, ensuring they experience the joy and warmth of the season. Here’s how it works:

Angel Trees are set up at several local spots: Purple Dove in Yulee, Purple Dove in Callahan, CG’s Hair Salon in Callahan, and the Micah’s Place administrative office on Sadler Road. Simply visit one of these locations, choose an ornament from the tree, and shop for the gift listed. Each gift you donate will go directly to a survivor or a family supported by Micah's Place.

Please bring all gifts to one of the designated locations by December 13th to ensure timely delivery. Your generosity can make a world of difference to someone this holiday season!

Gift Card Drive: A Simple Way to Give Back

If you’re looking for a flexible way to help, our Gift Card Drive might be perfect for you. Gift cards for essentials like clothing, gas, and food allow us to provide survivors with the items they need most, giving them a sense of security and independence during a challenging time.

Gift Cards are especially helpful as they allow mom to buy her children the perfect gift, and give her freedoms she may not have had in a very long time!

Drop off gift cards at any of our Purple Dove locations or our administrative office before December 13th. Even a small donation can have a big impact, helping survivors access essential goods and services throughout the holiday season.

Holiday Market: Shop, Celebrate, and Support

Join us on December 6, 2024, from 12 PM to 8 PM for our annual Holiday Market, a festive gathering held at 2188 Sadler Road in Fernandina Beach. This family-friendly event is a great opportunity to get into the holiday spirit while supporting a meaningful cause. Enjoy shopping from local vendors, fun arts and crafts, and even a visit from Santa himself!

The Holiday Market brings our community together and raises awareness for our mission at Micah’s Place. Whether you’re buying holiday gifts, enjoying seasonal activities, or simply stopping by to say hello, your presence helps us build a supportive environment for survivors in our area.

Join Us in Making This Season Brighter

At Micah’s Place, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved during the holidays. With your support, we can provide survivors with the resources, gifts, and encouragement they need to enjoy a joyful season. Please join us in spreading holiday cheer by participating in our Angel Tree program, Gift Card Drive, or by attending the Holiday Market on December 6th.

Together, we can make this season brighter for those who need it most. For more details or to get involved, feel free to reach out at info@micahsplace.org. Thank you for supporting our mission and bringing hope to survivors in our community!
