Micah’s Place 2011-2012 Student Art Contest: “Global Citizens”
Micah's Place wants Nassau County students to show us what it means to be a “Global Citizen”!Students are encouraged to show us what being a Global Citizen looks like to them through their artwork. October 1, 2011 – The launch of our 2011-2012 Annual Campaign.We rely on the community for a third of our $800,000 annual budget.That equates to approximately $250,000 per year.This amount is made available to us through private donations and fundraising events.Without these critical dollars, women and children would be without hope, help or healing.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 – Volunteer Appreciation and Awareness Breakfast.Sponsored by First Federal Bank of Florida and our guest speaker will be The Honorable Robert M. Foster, Administrative Judge, Nassau County.This breakfast is for the observance of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to acknowledge and thank all our amazing volunteers for their dedication and continued support throughout the year.
Thursday, October 6, 2011 – Micah’s Place is the annual sponsor of the Greater Nassau County Chamber of Commerce Membership meeting.It will be held at Noon at the Mansion in Hilliard, FL.This is part of our outreach program to the Westside of Nassau County.
Saturday, October 22, 2011 -- Stop by and see us at our inaugural Fall Festival from 10:00am to 1:00pm sponsored by The Blood Alliance. We will have food, music, games, bounce house, face painting, bake sale, refreshments, costume contests, and prizes!Performances by Island Tribe Dancers and Medinas Martial Art.All proceeds benefit Micah's Place.Event will be in the parking lot of the The Purple Dove Resale Center, Amelia Market Shopping Center in Yulee (next to Dick’s Wings Restaurant). Purple Dove will have their famous $5 bag sale. All that fits into a bag, is just $5.00. Other booths will be available with Anytime Fitness, Palm III Realty, Just Uniforms, Dick’s Wings, Tangles, Woody’s will have the Grand Opening, and much more!
