Crisis to confidence... more than a shelter

Micah's Place is a Certified Domestic Violence Center and the only one serving Nassau County Florida. Our mission is to provide prevention and intervention services to victims of domestic violence; and to provide education within our community to effect change in behavior and attitudes relating to domestic violence. We offer safe, confidential shelter, advocacy, a 24-hour toll-free hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, and support groups to victims of domestic violence. All of our services are free and confidential.

Domestic violence is defined as a pattern of assaultive and coercive behaviors. The intent of these behaviors is for the batterer to establish power and control over the victim. The behaviors are more than an isolated incident. Domestic violence almost always involves various forms of control - physical, sexual, psychological, economic, etc. Domestic violence is not isolated to people who are married; it occurs with dating adolescents, same sex couples and adults living together The defining characteristic is that they share an intimate relationship.

If you are currently experiencing emotional, physical, psychological, economical, verbal, or any other kind of abuse, we can help you. If you are in a controlling relationship, we can help you.  Call 800-500-1119 or 904-225-9979.
